I was initially very apprehensive about having cataract surgery but Dr. Lorenzo Cervantes and the staff at CT Eye Specialists alleviated any concerns I had. The in office videos helped me understand the process. While I was diagnosed with cataracts more than six months ago, Dr Cervantes advised me to proceed with cataract removable on my own timetable. I had both eye surgeries last month and both went extremely well. I highly recommend Dr. Cervantes and his staff.

I had cataract surgery for both eyes with Dr. Cervantes 3 weeks apart. The friendliness and honesty I received from the front desk, the nurses, and especially Dr. Cervantes put my worries to rest. He took the time to answer all my questions and was very clear with what to expect before, during and after surgery. I would recommend anyone looking for an eye specialist to go here. Had cataract surgery. The staff from the receptionists at the front desk, to the doctor’s assistances all were friendly and answered my questions. Dr. Lorenzo Cervantes was great! He also answered any questions I had about the different lenses and about the surgery. At the hospital he took his time before the procedure to make sure I was fine with everything. I'm totally very with the results of the eye surgeries. I now see what I have been missing with cloudy vision and also drive at night and not afraid of those crazy very bright on coming headlights. I see a brand new world in front of me and it's wonderful. Thank you 😊

My husband had a LASIK procedure done about 7 or 8 years ago, and I’ve had the PRK procedure done a few years ago, both by Dr. Cervantes and the amazing staff here. In both instances, the experience we had was stellar. Dr. Cervantes is always very thorough when explaining the procedures, potential side effects, and set clear expectations on post procedure recovery. After our LASIK and PRK, we’ve had no issues with our vision and we are both super pleased with the outcomes! The staff is always super friendly and professional, and we’ve always felt like we were being well taken care of. Wish I can done this years ago! Just completed my second cataract surgery and can now see (20-20) without the need for contact lens for the first time in over 55 years! I never thought it would be possible. Dr. Cervantes is a compassionate, skilled surgeon who never made me feel rushed and took the time to answer my questions and alleviate my 'sort of' fears. His staff and the staff at the Surgery Center of Fairfield County were friendly and professional, making this whole experience above my expectations. I would highly recommend him. I had THE best conversation with a medical office front desk EVER. Our “specialist” closed up, we were referred to a practice in Fairfield. Dr Cervantes and team are amazing. I have had terrible vision since I was a child, and ineligible for lasik. I started reading about alternate vision correction surgeries and found ICL info and made an appointment. The full process end to end was so simple, and 2 weeks post surgery I can see perfectly without glasses or contacts! The surgery process was a total of 3 hours, I felt no pain or discomfort- and the two worst parts were wearing my glasses for 2 weeks for measurements ahead of time and the light sensitivity the day after the surgery. I was working three days after for a couple hours. Absolutely would do it again- life changing!

Dr. Cervantes and his staff are amazing. The are compassionate and committed to the patients. Everything was explained to me and my family prior to surgery. I would recommend him and his team to everyone.

Dr. Cervantes performed cataract surgery on my eye and everything went perfectly. He explained everything that he would do, and my choices for implants; and of course, the surgery went smoothly. His office staff were great and were very helpful. The surgery was performed at Griffin Hospital and my experience there was excellent. Everyone there was great, particularly the nurses in the surgical suite. I would recommend Dr.Cervantes and Ct Eye Specialists, and Griffin Hospital to anyone needing eye care.

We were referred to Dr.Cervantes after our former Yale Cornea Specialist said there was nothing else she could do. At that point, my Mother’s eye had been sewn shut for 7 months and we were told her corneal scratch would never heal. Upon meeting Dr. Cervantes, he read her history and had a clear plan in mind to do a stem cell transplant from her good eye to her bad eye. He thoroughly explained what was wrong with her eye, why it wouldn’t heal and how he was going to fix it. We had the surgery and 8 days later her cornea was 90% healed! He is an exceptional doctor with a great bedside manner. My mother had been in such pain for 4 years and Dr. Cervantes surgery has healed her! I highly recommend him! I could not say more about him!! One of the most professional and warm doctors we have dealt with.

Was smooth thank God...

The whole team at CT Eye Specialists were amazing and made the process of getting my Lasik surgery very smooth. Dr Cervantes inspires confidence when you meet him and you can tell he loves what he does. Alyssa and Bethany helped to keep me calm in the procedure. I am like the most squeamish person when it comes to my eyes! But all three of them were just so great I can't recommend them enough! I walked out of the office seeing basically as good as I do with contacts and now it's the next day and I see perfectly with minimal discomfort. It's an incredible feeling! If you are nervous about getting anything done I would highly recommend this practice. The receptionists were also kind and welcoming you can tell everyone likes working there.

Dr. Cervantes was extremely thorough in explaining my options to get refractive surgery. Ultimately, I chose to get LASIK and it was the best decision ever! My only regret was not getting it sooner. Dr. Cervantes and his team made sure I was comfortable the day of my surgery. The entire process was painless and quick (~ 10 mins). I recently seen my optometrist and she said my eyes are doing very well and complimented how good my lens looked. I am very happy with my surgery and so glad I found Dr. Cervantes!

I underwent cataract removal in June, 2024. Dr. Cervantes and his staff were totally professional and very caring. My exam was thorough. Both the doctor and his assistants listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and helped me pick the best possible replacement lens. It has been 2.5 years since my PRK surgery and my eyes are still in perfect shape! My vision is 20/20, no glasses needed. My contact prescription prior was -4.5. Dr. Cervantes was excellent through the whole process, answering all my questions. He recommended PRK over Lasik, and I am happy with his recommendation. I have not had any dry eye symptoms or rings around my vision at night. I can't thank you enough for the gift of sight!! If you're looking for who to trust for this procedure, look no further.

Dr. Cervantes did my EVO vision icl lens surgery in December 2022. Nearly two years later I can still see perfectly without any discomfort still! Dr. Cervantes walked me through the steps and made the process much easier than expected. On surgery day, I was able to see and read the red clock on the wall in the surgery room without my glasses. I would highly recommend Dr. Cervantes, he explains everything before hand and makes you feel comfortable.

I cannot say enough good about this group. I saw Dr Cervantes for 2 catarac surgeries 2 weeks apart and my vision is perfect. In fact, I was referred to him by another surgeon who was unsuccessful in a first attempt at a cornea transplant. This time it was successful and am thankful for having been led to Dr. Cervantes.

Cornea cell transplant Although I was extremely nervous about my surgery, it was just as Dr. Cervantes described it. The several days of being on my back, in retrospect, went smoothly. He is kind, caring and, of course, expert. I could not have had a more positive experience.

I had been doing well for over a year with no flare-ups, but this weekend, I developed a pretty severe case. Of course, the symptoms didn't manifest until Saturday morning, and I had an event on Sunday that I really did not want to miss. Fortunately, Dr. Cervantes was on call for the practice. I called the answering service and immediately received a callback. Dr. Cervantes could have easily told me to go to the ER and follow up with him on Monday. But he didn't. He met me at the office on both Saturday and Sunday and treated me in person. I was able to attend and enjoy my event on Sunday. Dr. Cervantes is a truly caring doctor. The office staff is equally as wonderful and got me in again on Monday to make sure we were headed in the right direction. I am truly grateful for the wonderful care I have received from Dr. Cervantes and his staff, and I cannot recommend Connecticut Eye Specialists highly enough!

I had cataract surgery and doctor Cervantes was wonderful. The attention and concern shown by him and his whole office made the experience Comforting.

The office of Dr. Cervantes was professional & explanatory of what to expect when doing PRK. They answered all my questions & having the on call option after surgery if I needed help made me feel cared for & secure when I needed a better understanding of the medications to take/ when. I can see clearly now after a few months post- surgery & it’s an amazing feeling to be able to see without the aid of contacts/ glasses. I would say that if you decide to do this surgery this would be a great place to go as they are very personable & remember to have patience- with yourself, the eyecare team & the healing process. (It was blurry for awhile afterwards, but once things cleared up, felt great!)
