Four Simple Habits of Dry Eye Care

Routine preventive care is the best way to manage dry eye, much like brushing your teeth reduces the risk of plaque and gingivitis.

Those 4 habits are:

1) Eyelid warm compresses daily

2) Cleaning the lids and lashes twice a day with a lid cleanser (soap and shampoo are okay, but there are gentler products made for use around the eyes)

3) Blink every 3-4 seconds

4) Preventive lubrication – you can use a lubrication drop BEFORE TV, reading, driving, phone use, etc.
